PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH HIGH SCHOOL
The Plymouth Whitemarsh High School of the Colonial School District is located off Germantown Pike in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania. The project includes fully renovating the building and adding an additional cafeteria totaling 324,272 square feet. The building is a high school consisting of grades 9 through 12.
The building heating and cooling system includes vertical classroom packaged air handling units utilizing dual fuel (natural gas and oil) boilers for heat, and local DX cooling. The office areas utilize roof mounted air handling units with DX cooling and shut-off type variable air volume boxes. The heating pumps and air handling unit fans all utilize variable frequency drives and the classroom packaged air handling units utilize energy wheels for increased energy efficiency.
The Plumbing system consists of all low flow fixtures, waterless urinals and gas fired hi-efficiency condensing domestic water heaters. Sprinkler service is provided at the additions only. The low voltage systems consist of a fully wired data network, intercommunications system throughout the building, addressable fire alarm system, and closed circuit television recording system integrated with the access control and security system.
The lighting system consists of energy efficient dimmable LED lighting with a lighting control system to provide daylight harvesting in all instructional areas. Occupancy sensors are located throughout the building for additional energy savings. Exterior lights are controlled utilizing relay and photocell interconnected with the building automation system.
